The Gingko tree is Native to China, and some trees are believed to be over 1,500 years old.
The Ginkgo plant has a long history of use in Chinese medicine. Recent research has discovered a range of medicinally active compounds in the leaves and this has excited a lot of interest in the health–promoting potential of the plant.
The leaves are best harvested in the late summer or early autumn just as they begin to change color. They are dried for later use.
Gingko Leaf Powder is typicaly prepared in teas, capsules, and extracts.
