Frankincense (Select)
For thousands or years frankincense has been know by the ancient world for its healing and spiritual properties. These resin tears are hand harvested from trees growing wild along the rocky coasts of the Indian ocean.
Burning frankincense resin contributes to a purifying atmosphere that will ...cleanse, relax and soothe you.
Frankincense is tapped from the Boswellia tree by slashing the bark, and allowing the exuded resins to bleed out and harden. These hardened resins are called “tears”. There are numerous species and varieties of frankincense trees, each producing a slightly different type of resin. Differences in soil and climate create even more diversity of the resin, even within the same species.
In Ayurvedic medicine, frankincense is used for various purposes, including purifying the atmosphere from undesirable germs. In Indian culture, it is suggested that burning frankincense daily in the house brings good health.
Burning frankincense repels mosquitoes and thus helps protect people and animals from mosquito–borne illnesses.
USE:
To use, put sand or ash in the bottom of the burner. Coat the bottom of the bowl with sand or ash as a heat conductor for the charcoal. Put a few charcoal bricks in your burner and light the edges, and then place the loose incense on top of the screen covering the burning coal. This will release the scent into the air. Loose incense requires maintenance to keep burning for a long period of time.
