Bitter Orange e.o.
Fresh, citrus, wood–like, and bitter
Reminiscent of bergamot, grapefruit and sweet orange, but overall, the odor is distinctly different from that of other citrus oils. It is a different type of freshness, a peculiar floral undertones.
Bitter Orange oil is used extensively in flavors where it forms the main ingredient in the 'orange' flavor. Of interest: The bitter orange tree is well known for its resistance to disease and is often used as grafting stock for other citrus trees, including the sweet orange.
